Dental Implants in Charlestown, MA

Dental implants are the modern gold standard for replacing missing teeth. They look, feel, and function like natural teeth, they preserve the jawbone, and with good hygiene they can last a lifetime. At Quality Dental, implants are placed and restored in our Charlestown office by implant-certified dentist Dr. Fares Homsi — no need to be referred out to a separate specialist.

What is a dental implant? An implant is a small titanium post that we gently place into the jawbone to act as the root of a missing tooth. Once the bone fuses to the post (a process called osseointegration that takes a few months), we attach a custom porcelain crown that matches the surrounding teeth in shape and color.

Single-tooth implants are an excellent alternative to a traditional bridge because they do not require grinding down healthy adjacent teeth. Implant bridges use two implants to replace three or more teeth in a row. Implant-retained dentures snap onto two to four implants for a denture that does not slip and lets you eat foods you may have given up.

What to expect: we begin with a 3D evaluation of your jawbone, gums, and bite to confirm you are a good candidate. Implant placement itself is typically more comfortable than patients expect — most report less discomfort than a routine extraction. Healing takes a few months, after which we attach the final crown, bridge, or denture.

Cost and financing: implant treatment is a long-term investment. We will give you a clear written estimate, work directly with your insurance to maximize your benefits, and offer CareCredit financing to spread the cost over time.
